Staff at Carlton le Willows brought the page to life when they dressed up as characters from their favourite books for World Book Day 2024.

The annual day marked by schools across the country gives staff and students the chance to celebrate the magic of books – and reading.

Carlton le Willows’ learning managers greeted students on the blue line dressed as the much loved Roald Dahl characters Miss Trunchbull, Miss Honey and Matilda, while the Maths department spent the day as an assortment of characters from the Harry Potter novels.

Staff in the SEN department brought Cruella De Vil and the Oompa Loompahs to life and the English department, always with an eye on their subject dressed as characters from the set texts students in all year groups will study.
